Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:972,439. Typewriters; decollating webs. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd. Sept. 27, 1963 [Sept. 28, 1962], No. 36853/63. Headings B6B and BF. Ink-ribbon mechanism; exhaust of ribbon indicating; web feeding and guiding arrangements.-A computer 1, is provided with means for controlling the rate of feeding of carbon webs 10, interleaved with continuous stationery webs 14 past a printing mechanism 2 and comprises two cross-shafts 9 carrying spools 9a on which the carbon webs are wound the shafts being connected to a drive shaft 11, which in turn is connected to a continuously rotating motor 12, whose speed may be varied by a variable resistance 13 to permit the carbon web to be fed at different speeds. The continuous stationery webs are fed at high speed by tractors 6 in an upward direction and the carbon webs 10, which are released continuously but at a reduced rate are advanced with the webs 14 due to the friction existing between the respective webs. The friction also keeps the carbon webs in a tensioned state. The respective webs 10 and 14 are guided by shafts 15 and a stationary guide unit 4 comprising a plurality of parallel arcuate guide members 17. The webs are decollated in a decollator 5 comprising three guiding and supporting plates 18, guiding the webs 14 into trays 19, whereby the carbon webs fall between the plates into inclined trays 20. The exhaust of a carbon web 10 is indicated by a conductive strip of material adjacent the end of the web making contact with an electrically conductive roller 16 to close a warning circuit, which may comprise a warning bell and/or light. Specifications 468,284, 468,327, 757,302 and 757,382 are referred to.
