[Also in Division B5] A process for manufacturing vehicle bodies comprises (a) predisposing moulds 1,2, 3,4, 5, 6 for forming the outer surfaces of the body, (b) applying on to the moulds a layer of glass fibres impregnated with polyester resin, (c) applying on to this layer a skeleton 10, 11, 12, 14, 15 of the body, Fig. 3, not shown, consisting of ribs and frames of prefabricated resin, before polymerization of the layer, (d) polymerizing the layer and skeleton to form a unit, (e) coating this unit with prefabricated panels to form an inner layer and (f) injecting between the two layers a thermally insulating material which is expanded in situ. The moulds are connected to two rings 7 supported by rollers 9 so that each mould can be selectively located in a horizontal plane. Apertures in the moulds 2, 4 provide for door openings and flanges 28 carried in the moulds are bodily connected to the outer layer and serve to connect the finished body to a metal frame.
