A thermoplastic sleeve-like part 5 is first injection moulded around a portion of a metallic insert 3, and a thermosetting plastic is subsequently moulded around the thermoplastic part. As shown, an electrical contact block (Fig. 3) is made by assembling a. number of conductors 3 and injection moulding thermoplastic sleeves 5 around them with interconnecting webs 6. A number of these sub-assemblies (Fig. 1) are then assembled in a die (not shown) and a thermosetting body 1 (Fig. 3) moulded around them by transfer moulding. The conductors 3 may be gold plated.
