Zusammenfassung: | 947,207. Pneumatic tyres. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. May 27, 1960 [June 2, 1959], No. 18729/59. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre 1 comprises a plurality of parallel steel cord plies 2-5 extending successively from opposite beads 6 to terminate at the side of the crown region 7 opposite the bead of origin, the cords of all the plies in each sidewall of the tyre extending in a common direction which is other than radial and of equal and opposite cord angle to that of all the cords in the other sidewall so that the cords of the overlapping crown portions of opposite plies cross each other, Fig. 2. Each ply may comprise a doubled-back portion in the crown region, as shown in Fig. 3, to double the number of crown layers. In a further arrangement, Fig. 5, the crown region portion of each ply is slit into parallel side-by-side strips, each of three cords, and each strip of each ply is interleaved between a pair of the strips of the opposing ply. Additional conventional bead reinforcements, or breaker strips, may be incorporated in the tyre. |
