Zusammenfassung:939,808. Rollers. S. MITA. Aug. 4, 1960, No. 27020/60. Class 42 (2). [Also in Group XX] In a photographic developing machine, the rollers between which the photographic paper passes to be coated with developer are surfaced with resilient material, and have a plurality of deep thin circumferential slits spaced apart along the length of the roller, capable of retaining liquid therein by capillary action. The paper is delivered from the printing section through a guide 38 to the nip between primary roller 25 and secondary roller 28. Roller 25 dips partially into the developer solution contained in a bath 11 which is supported freely, without fastening, in side frame 1 of the developing apparatus. Both rollers are of resilient material, and have deep circumferential slits 26, 29, respectively, closely spaced along the length of the rollers. This construction allows the even application of developer liquid to the paper by roller 25 ; and since the two rollers are in contact, roller 28 applies liquid in lesser degree to the back of the paper also, which prevents distortion thereof.
