Zusammenfassung: | The cover of a golf-ball includes a vulcanized synthetic trans-polymer of a conjugated diene containing up to six carbon atoms in the molecule. In specific examples the diene is either butadiene or isoprene and a proportion of natural rubber and zinc oxide and titanium dioxide may be added. Alternatively the diene may be piperylene or dimethylbutadiene. The polymer has a trans-content of at least 70%. Vulcanization is effected either chemically or by irradiation, vulcanizing agents and assistants being added to the mix only in the former case. |
