Zusammenfassung: | 937,161. Transformers and inductors. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 10, 1959 [Nov. 11, 1958], No. 36205/58. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XIII] Liquid cooled apparatus e.g. oil immersed transformers, include cells mounted vertically one above the other adjacent the surface to be cooled and at least one vertical duct for carrying liquid from around the lower part of the apparatus to the lower part of each cell. Each cell is formed by an annular insulating baffle 19 connected to side walls 18 and is provided with an inlet gap 20 at the bottom and an outlet gap 21 at the top separated as far as possible. Each cell contains one section of the high voltage winding of the transformer. Oil circulates from tank 14 up ducts 22 to inlets 20, cools the windings 12 having vertical ducts, and leaves the cells by outlets 21 returning through the cooling tubes 15 to the bottom of the tank. If the tank is rectangular four inlet ducts 22 may be disposed in the corners. In a further embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) outlet ducts 23 may also be provided. Specifications 834,056, 887,383 and 887,384 are referred to. |
