[Also in Divisions B7 and B8] A vehicle parking system (see Division B8) incorporating a plurality of manually rotated turntables (see also Division B7) has a biased-on brake associated with each turntable. Each turntable incorporates a handle 17, Fig. 4A, which when rotated about the axis of shaft 19 from the horizontal position shown to a vertical position is then used to rotate the turntable about a vertical axis coincident with the axis of a brake drum 32 which is fast with the turntable. Elevation of the handle 16 compresses the biasing spring 33 and rocks a lever 25 to whose two-limbed outer end are attached both ends of a brake band 29 which is thereby slackened to release the brake. One end of this band incorporates a screw-and-nut adjustment 30, 31.
