Zusammenfassung: | 932,235. Windscreen wipers. TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd. Sept. 7, 1959 [Sept. 12, 1958; Oct. 17, 1958; Feb. 3, 1959], Nos. 29288/58, 33250/58 and 3809/59. Class 138 (1). A windscreen wiper which is not easily lifted from a windscreen by the force of the wind has a rubber blade, having a single wiping lip and symmetrically arranged side portions, so shaped and dimensioned that in operation an observer looking in the direction of the arrow 28 would see a surface XY sloping away from the windscreen and the observer and a surface XZ sloping towards the windscreen and away from the observer, the surface XY being of greater area than the surface XZ. At intervals along its length the wiper blade is formed with holes 30 leading to holes 32 in the backing strip 14. The upper surfaces of the flanges are provided with ribs preventing longitudinal air flow, as described in Specification 932,236. In an alternative construction the wiper consists of a substantially rigid body 34, Fig. 5, having a shallow wiping lip 38 and a longitudinal bore communicating at intervals along its length with sets of three holes 48. According to one of the Provisional Specifications the wiper may have two wiping lips. |
