Zusammenfassung: | An organopolysiloxane elastomer composition for making glass cloth laminates comprises an organopolysiloxane capable of being cured and having 1,98-2,05 organo groups per silicon atom and of molecular weight 1 X 105-10 X 105, preferably 3 X 105-7 X 105, together with up to 10% of a linear organo polysiloxane having 1,02-1,50 organo groups (preferably methyl groups) per silicon atom and of molecular weight not more than 4,000 preferably 1,000-3,000. The organo groups of the organopolysiloxane may be methyl, ethyl, phenyl, tolyl, vinyl or alkyl, but are preferably methyl groups with a minor proportion of vinyl groups. The organopolysiloxane composition may comprise fillers, such as finely divided silica, diatomaceous earth, finely divided alumina, titanium dioxide or calcium carbonate and such fillers may be coated with low molecular weight organopolysiloxane such as octomethylcyclotetrasiloxane or structure control materials such as (tetramethylethylenedioxy)-dimethylsilane or -diphenylsilane may be added to the composition. Curing agents such as benzoyl peroxide, dicumyl peroxide, di-tert-butyl peroxide, 2:4-dichlorobenzoyl peroxide and tert-butyl diperphthalate may be included. A curing agent activated at a low temperature, e.g. 2:4-dichlorobenzoyl peroxide, may be used with one activated at a high temperature, e.g. dicumyl peroxide, and the laminae given a preliminary curing above the lower temperature to render them more handleable. Specification 806,563 is referred to. |
