A bearing 12 comprises rolling elements 13, in rolling contact with inner and outer races 11. 14. and retained in a cage 15 externally formed or having means defining a boundary wall of an oil trap 30 communicating with or forming part of a chamber 24, into which oil splashes through apertures 26, oil being drawn from the trap 30 to pass between the elements 13 and one race. The trap 30 is defined between an axially-extending annular flange 27 on the cage 15 and one race 11, or between the flange 27 and means such as a shaft 101 integral with the race 11, secured to it, or carrying it. The race 14 is preferably resiliently mounted by connection to a fixed structure by means of bars integral with each other, formed in the portion 31 of a cylindrical member 17, and a wall 18. On shafting 10, splined to the shaft 101, is mounted a compressor and a turbine, the bearing 12 being adjacent to the latter.
