Zusammenfassung:A catalyst composition, used for curing polysiloxane emulsions, comprises (a) a waterinsoluble acyclic organic compound of tin or zinc, or a mixture thereof, and (b) an emulsifying agent which is soluble in (a) or in a solution of (a) in an organic solvent. Specified ingredients are dibutyl tin dilaurate and diacetate, dioctyl tin dilaurate and dioctoate and zinc and stannous octoates. Condensation products of alkylphenols, e.g. octylphenol and nonylphenol, with ethylene oxide are the preferred emulsifying agents. Specification 491,501 is referred to.ALSO:An aqueous emulsion of an organopolysiloxane containing silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms is cured by addition of a non-aqueous catalyst composition comprising (a) a waterinsoluble acyclic organic compound of tin or zinc or mixture thereof and (b) an emulsifying agent which is soluble in (a) or in a solution of (a) in an organic solvent. Specified tin and zinc compounds are n-dibutyltin dilaurate and diacetate, dioctyltin dilaurate and dioctoate and zinc and stannous octoates. In examples, (1) zinc octoate and di-n-butyltin diacetate are added separately to toluene and after stirring a polyethylene oxide derivative is admixed; an aqueous emulsion of the catalyst solution so prepared is mixed with an emulsion containing 5% wt. of a mixture of methyl hydrogen polysiloxane and a hydroxylated dimethyl polysiloxane and the product is used to treat cloth, resulting, after cure at 150 DEG C. for 5 minutes, in water-repellent properties; and (2) the same emulsion is also used to treat paper.
