Both sides of two rectangular or U- shaped frames are sprung into pivotal connection with one another by means of pivot pins fixed to one frame and capable of providing a clearance between the frames. The X-form under-frame which is thus produced may be attached to a table top to make an ironing board (Fig. 1, not shown) or may be used to make a stool or chair. Pin 13 is brazed at 14 to tubular leg 8 and has a rounded end 16 which is resiliently urged against the inner wall. of tubular leg 6 to maintain the spacing between the legs. Pivot pins with base-plates for attachment to wooden legs and pins having shouldered portions to hold the legs apart are referred to. |
