Zusammenfassung: | 906,142. Light-sensitive photographic materials. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. Feb. 10, 1960 [Feb. 13, 1959], No. 4774/60. Class 98 (2). A base is coated with a colloidal carrier containing a vinyl monomer and an alkali metal salt of an anthraquinone sulphonic acid as photopolymerization catalyst. A cross-linking agent may be present as well. Printing plates may be made therefrom by exposure under a pattern and development by washing away unpolymerized areas, or the latter may be transferred by contact with a receiving sheet and there hardened by exposure. In Example I, an aluminium sheet is provided with a coating comprising gelatin, acrylamide, 2,7-anthraquinone-disulphonic acid sodium salt, N,N1- methylene-bis-acrylamide as the catalyst and saponin, exposed under a negative and washed with warm water to leave a water receptive " resist " which may be dyed. In Example II, a PVM/MA subbed paper base is similarly coated but with use of calcium acrylate, the 1,8-anthraquinone acid salt and N-methacrylamide; exposed under a line positive, washed and dyed similarly. Numerous other vinyl monomers, anthraquinone sulphonic acid salts and catalysts are quoted. Specifications 858,037 'and 906,141 are referred to. |
