[Also in Group I] A length of disinfecting and deodorizing material 11 erodable by liquid is formed into a rod on a wire support with a head 9 and preferably a foot 10 and suspended in a waste pipe. The rod is such that it can be passed through the grid 13 of the waste pipe to hang therein by the head 9 or may have an enlarged head to be held in a waste pipe not provided with a grid. The wire support may be straight, helical or zig-zag. The rod of material may be enclosed in a protective and soluble envelope prior to use.
