Zusammenfassung: | 896,794. Stud and socket fasteners. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Feb. 1, 1960 [April 23, 1959; June 26, 1959], Nos. 13928/59 and 22034/59. Class 44. A fastener is formed of resilient flexible material and includes a shank 3 insertable into an aperture 4a of a support 4 to secure a member 5 thereto and a base 1 formed at one end of the shank and adapted to abut one face of the support 4 when the shank is so inserted, the base including an annular flexible portion 1a extending radially of the adjacent ends of the shank and an annular wall 2 extending substantially normal to the flexible portion and formed with a convexly curved peripheral surface 2a to enable the member to be secured to be snapped over said wall, the shank including an annular shoulder 3a spaced from the base and of sufficient flexibility to snap through the aperture in the support to engage the portion of the opposite face of the support adjacent the aperture, the flexible portion of the base I being adapted, when the shank is inserted into the aperture to flex into such position as to urge the under side of the annular wall into resilient engagement with the said one face of the support. As shown the wall 2 is divided into a plurality of segments, but in another construction it is not divided. As shown the shank is of circular cross-section but in a modification it can be of elliptical or oval cross-section in which case the size of the aperture 4a is made such that the shank is deformed to circular cross-section when inserted through the aperture. |
