Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:882,303. Securing windscreen wiper arms on shafts. TRICO-FOLBERTH Ltd. July 1, 1960 [July 3, 1959], No. 22975/59. Class 80 (2). A windscreen wiper arm 28 is secured on its drive shaft 8 by an inwardly tapering splined sleeve 2 engaging a correspondingly formed socket 22, the splines being disengaged by inward movement of socket 22 to enable the relative angular setting of the sleeve and socket to be adjusted. As shown, the wiper arm is retained on its shaft by a spring latch plate 12, the upper horizontal limb of which is formed with two intersecting hole portions 16, 14, the former of which normally engages the bottom of a groove at the end of shaft 8, while the latter is sufficiently large to permit the free passage of shaft 8. The arm may be disconnected by rotating it outwardly about a pivot 36, a cam projection 38 then distorting latch 12 as shown, to bring hole 14 into alignment with the end of shaft 8 for removal of the sleeve and socket. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the sleeve is secured to the end of the shaft by a nut.
