Zusammenfassung: | 876,528. Laminates. BRITISH CELANESE Ltd. Jan. 22, 1960 [Jan. 23, 1959], No. 2524/59. Class 140. A laminated material suitable for use in making gramophone records comprises two outer layers of cellulose acetate film, produced by casting from a solution of cellulose acetate in a volatile solvent, and an inner layer bonded to the two outer layers comprising a cellulose acetate film or a fabric consisting of or containing a sufficient proportion of cellulose acetate threads to permit bonding of the three layers. The cellulose acetate used in all layers may be the secondary acetate or the triacetate; suitable solvents are in the first case acetone or an acetone-water mixture, in the second case a methylene chloride-alcohol mixture. The inner layer may be a solvent-cast film, an extruded film, or a fabric woven wholly or partly from cellulose acetate threads. The layers may contain plasticizers, colours or pigments, and the inner layer may be printed. The laminate may be formed by applying a solvent or plasticizer to the surfaces to be bonded, pressing the layers together in the nip of a pair of rollers, and removing the solvent, if any. |
