A mincer has its helical cutter 3 inclined to the horizontal so that an oil supply pressure piston 18 can push up on its lower end to push the top out of its barrel 4 so that a hook can be inserted in its top hole 14 to facilitate upward withdrawal of the cutter 3. The cutter barrel 4 has an opening 7 to receive meat fed thereto by parallel feed screws 2 in the hopper 1. The top end of the cutter 3 has a stub shaft 13 received in the holes in the usual insert discs, which are held in position by the flange 16 .of a hand wheel 15 screwed on the barrel 4. The cutter is rotated from gearing from the motor 8 by a cam wheel 11 driving the cutter 3 through a dog clutch 12.
