Zusammenfassung: | 870,444. Gas-fired combustion apparatus. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd., JOSEPH. July 3, 1957 [July 11, 1956], No. 21429/56. Class 51 (1). ). [Also in Group XIII] Air from a chamber a and gas from a pipe e and a chamber d pass through ports controlled by loose disc valves u and v into a mixing chamber w and from there the mixture passes through a flame trap x into a combustion chamber g in a chamber b through which water passes from top to bottom. Ignition is by an electric spark plug y and combustion is pulsatory, the pressure changes causing the disc valves u, v to operate intermittently as referred to in Specification 802,927. Gases from the combustion chamber g pass through flue tubes to an exhaust gas chamber c on which is formed a dome i in the water chamber b. They pass then to a small side compartment m, Fig. 3, and a perforated silencer tube p, to be conducted through a large side compartment ml (which may be packed with loose material for silencing) to an outlet pocket q which may be connected to a flue pipe. The air for the compartment a passes through a similar large side compartment k1 by way of a similar silencer tube, Fig. 4 (not shown), from a small compartment k into which it is introduced by a side inlet from the atmosphere or a blower. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of liquid fuel and the passing of a mixture of a fuel and air to the combustion chamber through a non-return valve. |
