Zusammenfassung:861,060. Heating steam boilers by hot gases. NUCLEAR POWER PLANT CO. Ltd. Feb. 3, 1959 [Nov. 15, 1957], No. 35715/57. Class 123(2) A steam generator heated by the coolant gas from a nuclear reactor consists of an upright cylindrical shell 1 having a gas inlet 2 and outlet 3 and containing a number of vertically spaced tube banks 4 forming the preheating, vaporizing and superheating sections of the generator. The tubes of each bank are housed in a number of open-ended bores 5 of truncated sector shape in crosssection, the boxes being evenly spaced around the shell as shown in Fig. 2. In each box a number of tubes are located, the tubes being of sinuous form with vertical straight portions connected by return bends so that the gas flow is substantially parallel to the tubes. The boxes complete with tubes are prefabricated and assembled in the shell on site.
