Zusammenfassung: | 855,279. Mineral-mining equipment. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. Sept. 12, 1959, No. 31150/59. Class 68(1). In a blind bore 32 in the shank 18 of a pick for a mineral-mining machine is housed a ball 30 that is urged outwards of the bore by a coil spring 36 positioned in the bore. The ball when the shank is inserted in a pick holder 14 engages a depression 28 in the side of the pick shankreceiving aperture 16 of the holder to lock the pick in the holder. The end of the bore 32 in the shank is penned over after the ball has been inserted to limit outward movement of the ball. The depression in the wall of the aperture 16 is a bore 28 through a part-cylindrical insert 24 disposed with its axis parallel to the aperture in the holder at the side of the aperture. |
