Zusammenfassung: | 835,503. Panels. REPUBLIC STEEL CORPORATION. Feb. 6, 1958, No. 3933/58. Class 87(1) A laminated panel comprises a pair of spaced apart flanged sheets 10, 11, one longer than the other, with gasket means between the interengaging flanges and securing means for attaching the panel to a frame. The gaskets between the flanges may be of a vinyl plastic, each comprising a web 20 with a hollow ribbed edge 22, ribs 24 on one face for yielding engagement with flange 15 of the outer sheet and a fin 25 to engage the interior edge of flange 12. A glass fibre mat rests on a stainless steel shelf 41 between the sheets and is secured by spring clips 29, 30. Breathing and drainage holes are provided in the flanges and gaskets. Bolts 34 secure the sheets 11 to wall frames 35 and angle strips 38, mastic being applied between the parts. The vertical ends of two contiguous panels may be joined by a V-shaped packing member 49, held under compression between flanges 45, 46, 47, 48 (Fig. 5). A packed horizontal joint (Fig. 7) between two exterior parts 60a, 61a, and an interior part 62a, has a gasket 65 extending beyond the flanges and turning over at a flashing element 67, breathing holes 68 being provided and the flashing 67 extending to divert condensation water away from the insulation 71. |
