Zusammenfassung: | 835,012. Electrostatic precipitators. SIMONCARVES Ltd. Feb. 8, 1957 [March 15, 1956], No. 8097/56. Class 39(1). A collecting electrode assembly for a vertical flow electrostatic precipitator consists of a plurality of elements, suspended at their upper ends and free at their lower ends and of such cross-sections that each element together with the one next to it substantially encloses a number of spaces forming vertical ducts, the elements being spaced from adjacent elements and a vibrating or rapping mechanism being connected to at least one of the elements to cause the elements to oscillate and strike against one another. The electrode elements can be sealed at their upper ends into a plate forming the electrode support and gas seal. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, vertical plates 1 have strips 2 secured thereto by flanges and integral flanged end strips 3. An end plate 4 has no strips attached to it. A discharge electrode 5 is positioned in each of the squaresection ducts formed by the plates and strips. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, flanged vertical strips 6 and 7 are attached alternately to vertical plates 9 and 8 leaving gaps between the free ends of the strips and the adjacent plates. In further constructions the plates can have corrugations of semi-rectangular, semicircular, semi-hexagonal or triangular form. |
