Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Graphite is protected against corrosion by exposing it to an atmosphere of or including nickel carbonyl at room temperature to cause nickel to be deposited on at least part of its surface (both internal and external), and heating the surface in an atmosphere free from nickel carbonyl and any decomposition products of the deposition process to stabilize the deposited nickel. The heating may take place in an inert atmosphere, e.g. argon, at a temperature of 500 DEG C. The process is applied to the protection of graphite components in nuclear reactors (see Group XL(a)). Specification 791,011 is referred to.
