Class 64(1) In an apparatus in which air is heated in passing transversely over tubes 12 through which hot gases flow from a burner 10, a baffle structure is provided is the heating gas stream and comprises a plurality of staggered baffles 19a, 20a between which the combustion gases pass away from the tubes. The baffles may be solid but in the form shown they are hollow and some air is directed through the hollow baffles and thereby heated. A fan 1 is used to force the air through the apparatus.
