Classes 65(1) and 65(2) A spring loaded hinge, particularly for the lid of a vehicle boot, comprises an arm 33, pivoted at 34 to a bracket on the vehiclebody and formed with a cam-track 39, and a torsion bar 35 which engages in a notch 36 in the bracket and has a cranked end portion 37 cranked again at its extremity to carry a flanged roller 38 which bears against the cam-track and passes into a recess 40 in the track when the lid is fully open. The other end of the torsion bar is cranked at 41 and is anchored to the vehiclebody, adjacent to the complementary hinge of similar design, by engaging its extremity in one of the slots 42 whereby the torsion may be adjusted.
