[Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXVI] In making circumferentially or helically corrugated metal tubing or cable sheathing wherein the minimum interior diameter of the corrugations lies between 0.75 and 0.88 of the maximum exterior diameter, the pitch of the corrugations is between 0.15 and 0.25 of said maximum diameter, and the thickness of the wall is between 0.005 and 0.02 of said maximum diameter, measured in inches, + 0.0025 inch, one or more corrugating tools are rotated around the axis of a plain metal tube or cable sheath to exert pressure on the external surface thereof to produce corrugations of the dimensions specified. The radius of the working portion of each corrugating tool lies between 0.03 and 0.05 of the maximum exterior diameter of the corrugations. Specifications 720,650 and 736,704 are referred to. |
