Class 86 [Also in Group XXIV] ' An epicyclic gear driving two working spindles of a kitchen appliance such as a mixing machine, comprises a driving casing 3 rotatably supported on an arm 2 and driven by a motor in a housing 1, two spindles 4, 5 rotatably supported in the casing 3 and provided with planet gears 9, 11, an idler planet 10 meshing with the planet 11 and an annular gear 8 with which the planets 9 and 10 are meshed. Thus with the annular gear 8 fixed and the casing 3 rotated the spindles 4, 5 rotate in opposite directions as well as being carried bodily round by the casing 3. The annulus 8 may also be rotated if desired at a different speed to the casing 3. As shown the spindles 4, 5 carry tools 6 operating on material in a dish 7. The annulus 8 may be replaced by a sun gear.
