A wheel mounting for a vehicle comprises a fork structure and a U-shaped axle support member 16, 18 pivotally connected intermediate its ends to the limbs 12 of the fork, the axle support member being connected by tension spring 14a to anchorages 14 on the fork structure. The axle support member is formed as a single U-shaped tube 16 welded to flanged sheet metal plates 18. The lower end of each fork tube 12 is provided with an inverted U- shaped channel member 15 which serves as a mounting for the U-shaped tubular member 16. A flexible rubber mounting 21 may pass through both members 15 and 18. A friction damper 23 is applied between mountings 17 and 24. |
