Class 102(1) Apparatus for measuring the output of fuel injection pumps comprises a lever system operated to withdraw a deflector 2 normally lying between the nozzles x and measuring jars y when a handle 3 is operated and to insert it after a predetermined number of pump revolutions. A shaft 6 drives the pump and through reduction gearing 4 a shaft 8 having driven flanges 10, 11 driving a disc 5 rotatably mounted on the shaft 8 through friction linings. A spring loaded pawl 17 is engageable with a notch 20 in the disc 5 and is withdrawn therefrom by the lever system connected to the handle 3 whereby the disc 5 will rotate with the shaft 8 until the pawl 17 again engages the notch 20 or another notch in the disc 5.
