Zusammenfassung: | 772,604. Mixing fluids in flow. PYRENE CO., Ltd. April 13,1955 [April 20, 1954], No. 11357/54. Class 86 [Also in Group XXVIII] An injector for introducing a foam stabilizing solution into a water stream comprises a fixed jet member 4 and an axially movable throat member 8 disposed in a casing 1, the position of the member 8 controlling the space between the members 1 and 4 and the opening to a port 46 in the casing wall through which foam stabilizing solution is induced by the flow of water through the jet 4 and throat member 8. The members 4 and 8 have co-operating conical surfaces 7, 10. Axial movement of the member 8 is controlled by a pivoted lever 18 having a slot 20 engaged by a radial arm 14 attached to the member 8. An indicator disc 24 is adjustably mounted on the arm 18 and carries markings . registering with a mark on a bracket 26. In a modification, a radial arm 48, Fig. 4, attached to a sliding throat member 38, extends through a helical slot 30 in the casing 31 and an axial slot 32 in a sleeve 33 which is rotatably mounted on the casing 31. The sleeve 33 carries a housing containing a spring pressed ball 36 adapted to engage one of a series of depressions 40 to facilitate setting the throat member in predetermined positions. The throat member 38 is composite and comprises, adjacent the port 43, a ring 44 having an oblique end face 47 which can be adjusted so that it just closes the port 43. |
