In a wire connector having a ferrule 4, the wire end 14 is prevented from extending too far into the ferrule, when inserting it therein prior to crimping or soldering, by a pair of stops 10, 12 formed by slotting the end of the ferrule transversely across the seam 6 and curling the strips so formed inwardly across the end of the ferrule. The stops may be joined as shown at 10A, 12A, Fig. 4, particularly in the case of a seamless ferrule. Fig. 5 shows a sleeve for joining two wires wherein stops 10B, 12B similar to those shown in Fig. 3 are formed at the centre of the sleeve. |
