Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:638,753. Roller mills. SIMON (HOLDINGS), Ltd., H. April 21, 1947, No. 10551. [Class 59] A roller mill for cereal products includes, in combination with a single central feed spout situated at such a height above the feed gate that the stock can spread across or along the full length of the feed gate and of the feed rollers, a control device situated in said spout which, whilst it is operated, to control the feed gate, by the weight or density of the stock which accumulates above it in the spout, does not rise and fall in such stock but has one side only exposed to the stock so that its movement is not restricted by the pile of stock beneath it, the feed spout and control device being of a width less than the length of the rollers and feed gate so that they do not extend the full length of the latter. A hinged control plate o in the lower part of a central feed spout b is so inclined that its movement under the influence of the weight of stock above it is not impeded by stock beneath it. The movement of the plate o controls the opening of a feed gate a, associated with feed rolls c, d, through means including a lever q, a spring-urged member k pivoted at m, and an arm g carried by the spring-urged feed gate a. In a modification, two pivoted control plates may be provided on opposite sides of the feed spout. In another modification the control plate may form part of the lower wall of the feed spout and be hinged at its, the plate's, lower end.
