May 27, 1930, No. 16340. [Class 75 (ii).] A fitting for carrying a lamp shade of the kind comprising a rigid sliding member having one edge or face shaped to conform to the configuration of the flange &c. of the shade, and so arranged as in one position to engage a substantial area of said flange and to prevent withdrawal of the shade, is characterized by two oppositely sliding members being provided, embracing between them when closed the whole circumference of the flange. Fig. 1 shows an elongated framework 1 transversely to which slide plates 3 for holding a number of shades 5. Catches 8 retain the plates 3 in position, and girder or similar members 10 project from the frame 1 to support the major part of the weight of the shades 5. The provision of a pair of slides 3 is optional.
