An apparatus, such as a UE: receives S504, from a core network entity, such as an AMF/SMF, a protocol data unit (PDU) set quality of service (QoS) parameter and a QoS rule; maps S505 at least one uplink PDU that belongs to a PDU set to a QoS flow based on the rule, wherein the parameter is associated with the flow; and causes transmission S506 of an uplink PDU that belongs to the set on the flow using the parameter associated with the flow. PDUs not belonging to the PDU set may be mapped to a second QoS flow and transmitted thereon S507. An apparatus, such as an AMF/SMF, receives S503, from a core network entity such as a PCF, a PDU set QoS parameter and provides the parameter and a QoS rule to the UE. A further method, possibly at the UE, comprises receiving a PDU with information related to a PDU set (S610, Figure 6), and determining based thereon a QoS rule for uplink PDU set QoS (S611, Figure 6). An apparatus, such as a RAN, inserts information related to a PDU set into a PDU (S609, Figure 6), and provides this to the UE.
