Burner Liner

A foraminous burner liner for a gas abatement system has a hollow body defined by a wall that has a plurality of interconnected concentric layers. Each layer of the wall has a regular openwork mesh, and the regular openwork mesh of each layer is out of phase with one or more adjacent layers. The wall has sufficient layers so that the wall is optically opaque when viewed externally in any radially inward direction normal to the wall. Also provided is a burner liner comprising a plurality of interconnected layers wherein a layer comprises a right-handed helical strut coupled to a left-handed helical strut. A single layer of the foraminous burner liner is shown in Figure 5 and a ten-layer foraminous burner liner is shown in Figure 7. The invention creates a foraminous burner liner without a join-line and thus creates a burner liner with predictable burner properties. The liner may be made by additive manufacturing and may be made from a high temperature oxidation resistant alloy.
