Zusammenfassung:A work machine 100, e.g. a digger or excavator, is monitored during operation. In particular, an arm 105 of the machine 100, which is pivotably connected to a body 110 at a stick pivot 131, is connected at its other end to a tool 190 at a tool pivot 191. A tool position sensor (not shown) determines a position of the tool. Based on the position of the tool 190, a tool angle of rotation with respect to the stick 105 is determined, and an output signal is produced (which may be fed to an operator or a controller) based on comparing the tool angle of rotation with respect to the stick 105, to a target range of tool angles.
