A fan assembly

A fan assembly (10, fig 1) comprises a refrigeration system (21, figs 4 - 6) having a first heat exchanger 46 and a second heat exchanger 49; an airflow generator 20 generates an airflow over the second heat exchanger and a condensation collector collects condensate that forms on the second heat exchanger. The condensate collector comprises a bottle 79 located in a gap (79, fig 8) of the first exchanger, which is annular. The collector may also comprise a tray 77 located between the first and second exchanger and connected to the bottle via a drain 78, and both the bottle and tray being removable from the assembly. The second heat exchanger is located above the first heat exchanger, and the second exchanger surrounds (e.g. encircles) a major portion of the generator. The exchangers may be cylindrical. The assembly may comprise a filter assembly (18, 19, fig 2) surrounding (encircles) the second exchanger. The first heat exchanger may be embedded in a thermal store 43 and surrounds a major portion of a compressor 47 to attenuate noise.
