A hydraulic pump arrangement

A hydraulic pump assembly comprises a hydraulic pump 16 connected to an electric motor 14 via a rotatable coupling 18 which comprises a splined connection housed within a chamber 32 comprising a chamber wall 36. The chamber defines a flow passage for hydraulic oil for lubricating the coupling and comprises an inlet 42 for receiving hydraulic oil from the pump and an outlet 34 for the hydraulic oil. The inlet may be towards the pump end of the coupling, with the outlet towards the motor end such that the flow passage extends along the coupling between the pump and motor ends. The flow passage may circumferentially envelope the coupling. The pump may comprise a pump shaft 17 connected to the coupling and a pump shaft bearing 40, wherein the inlet is in fluid communication with the pump shaft bearing to receive a flow of hydraulic oil therefrom. The assembly may further comprise a hydraulic tank having an oil storage area, with the hydraulic pump located within the oil storage area and comprising at least one pump inlet for drawing a flow of hydraulic oil therefrom.
