Zusammenfassung: | An apparatus 10 for wirelessly charging an electric vehicle (EV) comprises: a wireless charger 14; a location mechanism 16 connected to, and arranged to move, the wireless charger; a control device 18 connected to, and arranged to control the movement of, the location mechanism; a communication device 20; a power supply 24 connected, and arranged to supply power, to the wireless charger; and a cover 26 extending over at least the wireless charger and the location mechanism. The communication device is connected to the control device and receives a communication 40 for determining the location of a vehicle component 22 to be charged. To perform wireless/contactless/inductive charging: the location mechanism is moved according to the received communication for determining the location of the vehicle component; power is supplied to the wireless charger which wirelessly charges the vehicle component. The location mechanism may include: a base mounting the wireless charger; and a set of pulleys (28-Fig.2) and wires (30-Fig.2) connected to the wireless charger to move it in at least two dimensions. A camera (46-Fig.5), to capture an image of the EV to be charged, may be connected to the communication device which identifies the EV from the image. |
