Zusammenfassung: | A method of manufacturing a storage container (110, Figure 8) is for storage in a stack (12, Figure 1) in a grid framework structure 14 of columns 11 configured to store a stack of storage containers. The method includes: A) forming a lower part 160 of the storage container by the steps of: i) stamping or drawing a sheet metal blank (185, Figure 16) into a drawing die 184 to form a tray-shaped preform 178 comprising a base (172, Figure 22) with a raised rim 180 and a flange 182; ii) turning the flange to define a connection surface that extends in the same direction as the raised rim of the preform to form a container having a predefined depth; B) forming an upper part 162 of the storage container by the step of: iii) stamping sidewalls 164 and/or end walls 166 from one or more separate sheet metal blanks; C) attaching the lower part to the upper part by attaching the sidewalls and end walls to the connection surface of the container. The flange may be turned by a wiping die (198, Figure 18). The attaching in step C) may be by welding. The container may be leak-proof. |
