Zusammenfassung:	A passive fire protection system for penetrations through an outer skin of a building. The passive fire protection system for penetrations, such as through a roof 11, comprises a flexible fire barrier comprising 10 an inorganic fibre substrate and a fire-resistant and water-resistant outer coat applied to the substrate applied about the penetration on an inner side of the outer skin. Additionally at least one bead of flexible sealant 12 provided to seal about the penetration on an outer side of the outer skin. There may also be a similar fire barrier on the outer side of the penetration. The outer coat may be silicone based or may include metal foil. Also claimed is a fire barrier system with the fire protection system applied to the outer skin of a building.
