Zusammenfassung:An engine stop-start event may be allowed or denied based on one or more characteristics of the vehicle including the transmission (18,fig.1). The transmission comprises a main hydraulic pump (30,fig.1), an auxiliary pump (32,fig.1) coupled to a gear and selective coupler arrangement (34,fig.1), and a transmission control circuit (22,fig.1) operatively coupled to the main and auxiliary pumps. The transmission control circuit is configured to determine a system leakage of the transmission 222, and determine a required auxiliary pump speed 226 for an engine stop-start event based on the system leakage. If the transmission control circuit determines that the determined required auxiliary pump speed satisfies a threshold allowable speed 228, engine stop-start is allowed 230. Engine stop-start is prevented 232 if the determined auxiliary pump speed exceeds the threshold allowable speed.
