A coil 32, 34 wound about each stator core segment 22 such that the coil overlies radially inner and radially outer surfaces of the stator core segment. The coils are connected such that the stator assembly comprises a three-phase stator assembly, and adjacent coils are wound in pairs in opposite directions, using a single piece of wire. |
