Zusammenfassung:	A fuel injector 10 for delivering gaseous fuel to an internal combustion engine includes a nozzle body 14 having a nozzle bore 16. A valve needle 44 is disposed for axial movement within the nozzle bore 16 and includes a valve head 46 engageable with a valve seat 20 to control gaseous fuel delivery through at least one outlet 26 of the fuel injector. The valve needle comprises a first thinned portion 48 that is flexible so as to allow bending of the valve needle responsive to contact between a first guide 30 and the valve needle. There may be second 66 and third 76 thinned portions axially separated along the length of the needle. The third portion may be disposed above a second guide 40 axially distal to the valve head. The injector may comprise a spring 112 and an actuator 116, 118.
