Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to HTS catalysts used in hydrogen or synthesis gas production units, whether in steam reforming, autothermal reforming, dry reforming or gasification processes, that are chromium-free and comprise iron oxide, containing levels of platinum between 0.1 and 0.4% m/m, promoted by sodium levels of between 0.1 and 0.3% m/m, and optionally aluminium levels of between 5.0 and 6.0% m/m inserted into the crystal lattice of an iron oxide having a hematite crystal structure (Fe2O3), thereby combining high activity with excellent resistance to deactivation by exposure to high temperatures. In a second aspect, the present invention provides a method for converting carbon monoxide by bringing said catalyst into contact with a stream of synthesis gas, in which the maximum temperature of the bed can be limited by injecting water or steam together with the CO-containing gas feed at the inlet of the reactor. |
