| Zusammenfassung: | A haircare appliance 100 comprises an airflow generator 104 and a sensor 118 for detecting a usage condition of the haircare appliance. A control unit 112 is configured to determine from the sensor output if the usage condition satisfies a predetermined usage condition. If the usage condition does not satisfy the predetermined usage condition for a predetermined period, the control unit will put the airflow generator into an idle state in which a temperature and/or a flow rate of the airflow are progressively reduced. The control unit may put the airflow generator in a first idle state where the airflow is reduced compared to a normal operating state and then, after a further predetermined period, put the airflow generator in a second idle state in which the flow rate and/or temperature are still further reduced. The sensor may comprise an orientation sensor, a motion sensor or a sensor which detects when a user is holding the appliance. A second distance sensor 119 may also be provided to control the airflow generator when it is established that the predetermined usage condition is satisfied. |
