Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A swivel assembly for oilfield operations, comprising: a first pipe section 14 having a first end fitting and a second pipe section 16 having a second end fitting corresponding to and receiving the first end fitting, each of the first and second end fitting having an inner surface (21, 22, 36) and an outer surface (19, 20, 35); and a swivel joint 12 rotatably securing, via the corresponding first and second end fittings, the first and second pipe sections together along a central axis to define a fluid passageway therethrough; wherein at least a portion of one of the first pipe section and the second pipe section is formed of a corrosion-resistant material having a first hardness and at least a portion of the swivel joint is formed having a second hardness greater than the first hardness. Further aspects include a method of manufacturing a swivel assembly. The swivel joint 12 includes the male end fitting and the female end fitting and can be treated to form a hardened first area 100 and a hardened second area 102, respectively wherein a plurality of raceways (44) are defined and a plurality of ball bearings 60 disposed within the raceways.
