Zusammenfassung:	An engine system comprising an internal combustion engine, a heat recovery system, and a compressor. The engine comprises at least one cylinder and piston. The heat recovery system 105 comprising a gas expander 132, a closed-loop circuit containing a working fluid, the circuit being arranged with a heat source from the engine such that the working fluid is heated by the heat source, causing expansion of the working fluid that moves a movable part of the gas expander. The moveable part of the gas expander is coupled to the compressor 150 so as to drive the compressor and the compressor outlet is connected to the inlet of the at least one cylinder. Driving the compressor using the energy recovered by the heat recovery system may provide for increased efficiency of the engine system as delivering compressed air to the engine will reduce the fuel consumption of the engine, by reducing the pumping work.
